Avenzel Hotel & Convention Celebrates National Batik Day 2025 with Collaboration with Kriya Kara

The spirit of preserving local culture is once again echoed by Avenzel Hotel & Convention through an initiative that collaborates with the Kriya Kara batik artisan community. In celebration of National Batik Day, which falls on October 2, Avenzel Hotel offers guests an authentic cultural experience by hosting a batik exhibition and providing free batik painting in the hotel lobby.

The event, which runs from September 29 to October 4, 2025, in the Avenzel Hotel lobby, provides a platform for batik artisans to showcase their best works through exhibition booths that are open to the public. Every day, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, hotel guests can enjoy a variety of batik motifs, interact directly with the artisans, and try their hand at the batik-making process.

Not only as a form of appreciation for Indonesia's rich culture, Avenzel Hotel also wants to provide real support for MSME players, especially local batik artisans. This event is an opportunity to introduce batik to the wider community, including hotel guests from various regions and abroad.

“Through this collaboration, we want to give new enthusiasm to batik artisans to continue their work. We see high enthusiasm from guests for the batik products on display. This shows that batik is still in high demand, even among the younger generation. We are proud to be part of the effort to preserve Indonesian culture,” said Sonia Persia, Marketing Communication at Avenzel Hotel & Convention.

The enthusiasm of visitors toward the exhibited works is also expected to serve as moral and economic encouragement for artisans to continue creating and innovating. Through this event, Avenzel Hotel is committed to remaining part of an ecosystem that supports cultural preservation while fostering the development of the local creative economy.
